Easter Vigil of Day
Create PowerPoint slides from this hymn →The Agnus Dei is an ancient Christian liturgical acclamation drawn from John 1:29, in use since the 7th century. It is traditionally sung during the communion rite and at Easter, petitioning Christ — the Lamb of God — for mercy and peace.
Almighty God,
through Jesus Christ
you overcame death
and opened to us the gate
of everlasting life.
Grant that we,
who celebrate the day
of our Lord’s resurrection,
may, by the renewing
of your Spirit
arise from the death
of sin to the life
of righteousness;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
