A 19th-century invocation hymn by Elwood H. Stokes calling on the Holy Spirit to fill and sanctify the believer's heart. Set to music by John R. Sweney, it became a staple of evangelical and Wesleyan-Holiness worship.

Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
