O blessed Saviour! Who but Thou
Create PowerPoint slides from this hymn →A devotional hymn by 19th-century Plymouth Brethren writer Sir Edward Denny, meditating on the incomparable love of Christ and the spiritual bond shared by believers who are united in Him.
Verse 1
O blessed Saviour! Who but Thou,
On earth, in heaven above,
May claim from all our willing hearts
The full response of love?
Verse 2
We love the brethren, Lord, 'tis true,
Because in them we see
Sweet traces of Thy blessed self,
For they are one with Thee.
Verse 3
And one with us, but O, 'twas Thine,
Thine only, Lord, to part
With life and all that love could give,
To win the wand'ring heart.
Verse 4
Thus, heirs of endless bliss with Thee,
We love Thee—we adore,
And ask Thee still for greater grace,
To love Thee more and more.
