Now, in a song of grateful praise
Create PowerPoint slides from this hymn →A hymn by English Baptist minister Samuel Medley (1776) celebrating Christ's sovereign love and perfect works, with the refrain 'My Jesus has done all things well' drawn from Mark 7:37.
Verse 1
Now, in a song of grateful praise,
To Christ my Lord my voice I'll raise;
With all His saints I'll join to tell,
My Jesus has done all things well.
Verse 2
All worlds His glorious power confess
His wisdom all His works express;
But O, His love what tongue can tell?
My Jesus has done all things well.
Verse 3
How sovereign, wonderful and free
Has been His love to sinful me!
He plucked me from the jaws of hell;
My Jesus has done all things well.
Verse 4
I spurned His grace, I broke His laws,
And yet He undertook my cause,
To save me, though I did rebel;
My Jesus has done all things well.
Verse 5
Though many a fiery, flaming dart
The tempter levels at my heart,
With this I all his rage repel;
My Jesus has done all things well.
Verse 6
And when to that bright world I rise,
And join the anthems in the skies,
Above the rest this note shall swell,
My Jesus has done all things well.
