A personal devotional hymn expressing total surrender to Christ's love, likely translated from German by John Wesley. It moves through themes of consecration, trust in suffering, and longing for Christ's return.

Verse 1

Lord Jesus, Thy great love to me
No thought can reach, no tongue declare:
O bend my wayward heart to Thee
And reign without a rival there;

Thine, wholly Thine, alone I'd live,
Myself to Thee entirely give.

Verse 2

O Lord, how gracious is Thy way,
All fear before Thy presence flies;
Care, anguish, sorrow pass away
Where'er Thy healing beams arise;

Lord Jesus, nothing may I see,
Nothing desire apart from Thee.

Verse 3

In suff'ring be Thy love my peace,
In weakness be Thine arm my strength;
And when the storms of life shall cease
And Thou from heaven wilt come at length,

Lord Jesus, then this heart shall be
For ever satisfied with Thee.
